Paul Kane '74
Paul Kane’s name is etched into the history of Rhinebeck High School and Dutchess County basketball. A dominant scorer and fierce competitor, Kane became the leading scorer in both Rhinebeck and Dutchess County history, finishing his career with 1,610 points.
His excellence on the court was matched by his consistency and leadership. Kane was named Most Valuable Player of the Bi-Valley League in 1972, 1973, and 1974, earning recognition as one of the premier athletes of his era. He was also a First Team Bi-Valley All-Star every year from 1971 through 1974, a testament to his sustained impact on the game.
Beyond league honors, Kane’s talent earned him wider recognition. He was twice selected as the Kingston Freeman Player of the Year (1973, 1974), cementing his place as one of the most accomplished players ever to wear a Rhinebeck uniform.
